Abstract

The present Law provides the legal framework for the operation of spatial information infrastructure in the Free State of Saxony and regulates its relation to the national geo-data infrastructure. Furthermore, the Law implements aspects of the environment policy of the European Union. The text consists of 11 articles as follows: Purpose (1); Definition of terms (2); Sphere of application (3); Collection and administration of geo-data (4); Network services and geo-portals (5); Collection and administration of metadata (6); Operation of the Geo-Data Service of Saxony (7); Access to geo-data and metadata and geo-data services ((8); Compensation (9); Power to enact regulations (10); Transitional provisions (11). One Annex is enclosed.
