The aim of the protection is to: a) conserve the area of the National Park in its beauty and originality; b) preserve the various characteristic animals and plants including their habitats; c) allow an impressive natural experience for a broad range of people. Moreover, the National Park as a means of environmental education shall contribute to raise the awareness of the idea of National Parks in Austria in general, and of the careful and sustainable use of nature and natural resources. The Law sets forth in detail institutional procedures for the organization and management of the Park.
