Abstract

These Rules, made by the South African Veterinary Council under section 30(1) of the Veterinary and Para-Veterinary Professions Act, 1982, define the services pertaining especially to the profession of veterinary nurse. They also set out principles of professional conduct of veterinary nurses. A nurse may take samples for the diagnosis by a veterinarian of Brucellosis in animals and the testing of animals for tuberculosis by means of the intradermal tuberculin test provided that her or she has passed a course approved by the Department of Agriculture.
