Abstract

The Rules specify in in 25 sections detailed conditions and requirements for marine fishing in the EEZ of Lithuania. The provisions inter alia regulate total allowable catch, catch quotas and bycatch, data collection and reporting, on-board inspections and other enforcement measures, prohibited fishing methods, use of gear and mesh-sizes, size of fish, prohibited areas and periods. Subsections 6.5 to 6.7 concern environment impact assessment and environment protection measures. The Rules shall be implemented by the Environmental Protection Department.
