Abstract This Royal Decree establishes and regulates the Omani company for the protection from marine pollution and it also identifies the managing bodies. The purposes of this company are: to collect and dispose of the waste oil from ships, whether in ports or in territorial waters, through floating facilities; to reduce the pollution of beaches; to cover the import and storage of equipments and devices; to insure from technical damages that could occur to the devices used; to collaborate with the emergency services; and to sell oils extracted during anti-pollution operations.
