Abstract This Law consisting of 49 articles divided in 6 Chapters aims at protecting consumer health and rights. It prohibits: trading in any commodity or providing any services without meeting health and safety conditions and obtaining the licenses or permits from the competent body; advertising any commodity or providing any service without obtaining the approval of the competent body; trading in any adulterated, corrupt, counterfeit or not authorized commodities; engaging in any practice aiming to monopolize the trading of a commodity. It provides also for: specific warning given in Arabic and English for any commodity or service that can cause damages to the consumer; commercial activity registrations; suspension or destruction of provision of services or commodities trading in dangerous circumstances; curtailing the increase in prices in exceptional circumstances; disputes between the provider and the consumer; examination of any commodities; bulletins to inform consumers; actions to guarantee consumer rights or public health.
