Abstract This Law consisting of 14 articles aims at regulating the production, import operations and trading of pesticides in the Sultanate. An Authority shall be responsible for registration of pesticides that may be imported, exported, manufactured, managed, traded or used in the State and it will be necessary an authorization. On a proposal from the aforementioned Authority, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries decides on: types of pesticides which import, manufacturing and trading are banned or restricted; rules for registration or/and cancellation of registration; terms to produce, import, export manufacture and trade pesticides; inspection procedures; conditions and procedures for the use of pesticides and to identify the percentage of residues permissible in agricultural products; conditions and procedures for the disposal of pesticides.
