This Royal Decree enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Abstract

This Royal Decree is composed of 3 articles and an attached Notice. Article 1 considers a project for establishing a dam protecting the Wilaya of Salalah in the governorate of Dhofar from the dangers of flooding. This is defined in the attached Notice along with comprehensive planning fees. Article 2 states that the parties concerned are to take necessary land, property and installations for the project in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Expropriation for Public Utility (Royal Decree No. 64 of 1978). The attached Notice provides required guidelines in dam construction such as using crushed soil and rocks provided with reinforced concrete or gabion structures; the provision of pipes for discharging water that collects within the dam; establishing a hydrological network, etc. Locations showing where dam projects can be implemented are illustrated in the maps which are not available in the text.
