There shall be a public officer who shall be in charge of navigation in any specified rivers of Guyana or any parts thereof and there shall be a public officer responsible for any tributary or specified part of a river and a deputy. Also subordinate officers and servants shall be appointed for purposes of carrying out provisions of this Act. Regulation making powers of the Minister in respect of navigation on rivers are specified in section 7. The Minister may order navigation improvement works pursuant to section 8. A report on the condition of river navigation shall be submitted yearly to the National Assembly.
