This Act shall come into operation on a date to be fixed by Proclamation.
Abstract

The Act (17 sections) approves and implements the River Murray Waters Agreement between the Commonwealth of Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia for the management, preservation and allocation of waters of the River Murray, the Menindee Lakes and other waters. The Schedule contains the Agreement (120 clauses) and sets out, inter alia, the constitution of The River Murray Commission, financial contributions, the management of waterworks and the allocation of water.
