Abstract The present Law lays down provisions relating to the management and organization of harbours of the Rhine situated in the Canton Basel-Landschaft. Article 2 outlines the principles of the Law as follows: 1) the handling of goods has to be carried out and promoted through appropriate measures; 2) the harbours of the Rhine have to be used in such a way as to ensure the safety and protection of the environment; 3) the harbours and their surrounding industrial areas belonging to the Canton shall be managed by the competent office.
