Abstract

This Notice of the Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs generally authorises use of water in terms of the National Water Act. The authorisation replaces the need for a water user to apply for a licence in terms of the National Water Act for a water use provided that the use is within the conditions set out in this Notice. The authorisation concerns the irrigation with wastewater, discharge of wastewater, disposing of waste that may have detrimental on water resources, moving, discharging and disposing of underground water. The general authorisation also prescribes precautionary practices and defines offences.
