Abstract

This Measure of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR), adopted in accordance with Article IX of the Convention on the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources, restricts the use of bottom trawling gear in the high-seas areas of the Convention Area to areas for which the Commission has conservation measures in force for bottom trawling gear. This conservation measure does not apply to the use of bottom trawling gear in conducting scientific research in the Convention Area.
