Abstract

These Regulations, divided into 3 Parts and made under the Mines and Quarries Act 2005, concern restricted minerals licence application and give definition of the relevant terms, including: breach of these Regulations; place of business; possess; precious minerals; restricted minerals; special licence. Matters covered by the Regulations include: general provisions concerning special licence applications; content and process of an application; qualifications for issuance of a special licence; terms and conditions of a licence; fees; suspension and cancellation of a special licence; sanctions and penalties for breach of regulations; convictions; obligations of licensee, including submission of an annual report of the minerals bought and sold. Attached schedules concern: definition of fees and charges; special licence application form.
