Abstract

This Resolution, consisting of 6 Chapters and 10 Annexes, establishes the rules and procedures for environmental licensing in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul as provided by State Law No. 2.257 of 9 July 2001, and lays down the list for each licensing stage and the table of activities to be authorised. They are guidelines for environmental licensing: considering both the elements and processes that can cause environmental impact; using different criteria for licensing according to the size, complexity and the potential environmental impact of the activity; including the risk of accidents, in determining restrictions and conditions for location, installation and operation of the activity; requiring the installation of Environmental Control System for activities that recommend; establishing technical processes for information and documents required from the applicant's license; assessing certain provisions in the Ecological and Economic Zoning of State of Mato Grosso do Sul (EEZ/MS), the State Water Resources Plan (PERH) and classification of water bodies; compatible installation of the proposed activity with other uses and land occupations around it, considering the possible incompatibility between different types of activities.
