The GFCM should also facilitate the elaboration of national strategies for the sustainable development of the small-scale fisheries sector, in line with the SSF Guidelines and with the conclusions of the Regional Conference and continue to build political will to invest in participative management approaches – such as co-management schemes – in order to sustainably develop fisheries in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea.
