Abstract

This Resolution of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC) acknowledges that EMS are being conducted or developed for other tuna fisheries both in the Pacific Ocean and in other seas and oceans, and that the terminology used on Electronic Monitoring System (EMS) should be, to the extent possible, compatible and harmonized with those used and adopted by other t-RFMOs. The definitions of electronic monitoring, Electronic Monitoring System, EM standards, EMS Program, EM equipment, EM records, EM data, EM analysis, EM analyst, EM review center, EM coverage, EM review rate, and EM service provider are set out in the Annex to this Resolution.
