These measures concern: prohibition of retaining on board, transshipping, landing, or storing, in part or whole, carcasses of silky sharks caught by purse-seine vessels in the IATTC Convention Area; limits on bycatch of silky sharks caught by longline vessels; prohibition of fishing in silky shark pupping areas; gear restrictions; limits on catch of small silky sharks during a given fishing trip; dataa collection and reporting. The Commission shall prioritize research on silky sharks by the scientific staff in specified areas.
