This Plan of Tourism, consisting of 5 Chapters, regulates the tourism sector within the Portuguese territory for the period 2013-2015. It also establishes that the competent authority to implement this Strategic Plan is the institution called “Turismo de Portugal, I.P.” and establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of a Commission for a Strategic Orientation in the Tourism sector (COET), entitled to give strategic advices to the governmental activities for this sector; to create coordinating inter-departmental mechanisms for a better definition and implementation strategic sector of tourism, etc. This Plan of Tourism is divided as follows: Impact of tourism activities on Portuguese territory (Chap. I); Valorisation of Portuguese territory (Chap. II); Strategic objectives up to 2015 (Chap. III); Implementing programmes (Chap. IV); Monitoring of PENT (Chap. V).
