This Resolution of the Council of Ministers enters into force on the day after its publication.
Abstract

This Resolution of the Council of Ministers, consisting of 5 sections and one Annex, establishes the strategic guidelines for the valorisation of the potentiality of lithium minerals in Portugal. The Council of Ministers decides to: determine that the activity of developing and exploiting lithium minerals in Portugal should be based on: a bet in the initial phase of the row (geological knowledge); evaluating the opportunity to install specific technological units; the context of national, European and international financial instruments, of research projects aimed at the recovery of lithium minerals. Strategic guidelines shall take into account: prevention of waste production and its management, as well as the efficient use of resources and the environmental impacts resulting from their implementation; to instruct the member of the Government responsible for the area of ​​economy to schedule the integrated strategy for valorisation of the potential of lithium minerals in Portugal, with a view to streamlining the activity of disclosure and use of this resource.
