Abstract This Resolution consisting of 16 articles applies to all environmental laboratories belonging to public authorities, public and private research bodies, educational institutes, NGOs, and independent laboratories. It states that environmental laboratories applying for accreditation, or for its renewal, must obtain ISO/IEC 17025 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories). The competent authority (he Center for Analytical Laboratories at the Environmental Public Authority), after examining the accreditation requests, replies within 30 days from the application. The accreditation certificate issued by the EPA is valid for 3 years, and is renewable if the conditions set out in this Resolution are met. The EPA concerned department can visit the accrediting institution to verify the validity of the certificates and documents.
