One of the central objectives of the governmental programme is the fight against hunger and poverty alleviation, in which the fishing sector plays a key role, through the sustainable management of fisheries resources, to ensure the supply of fish and maximize socio-economic benefits. One of the roles of the State, the promotion of the development of aquaculture to increase the supply of fish to contribute to food security, on the one hand, and the promotion of employment on the other. Aquaculture could play a strategic role in resolving the Government's major objectives for poverty alleviation, food security, the relaunch of the productive sector and increased contributions to the national treasury. With the implementation of the policy and legislative framework for the sustainable development of aquaculture, projects can be implemented ensuring the use of good practices and land use rights.
