Apiculture breeders shall practice breeding and shall be affiliated with an apiculture cooperative or with the Syrian Apiculturists (art. 2). Apiculture breeders must be responsible for the following: keep a register; communicate to the Ministry of Agriculture about any disease; respect the technical instructions and guides related to the production and marketing of bee products; comply with the rules and regulations concerning environmental safety; and must not transfer any beehive to another zone without a previous authorization (art. 3). The Technical Department of the Ministry of Agriculture has the right to inspect beehives (art. 4). Requirements and conditions for apiculture sites and nectar-grazing are given in article 5. The Ministry of Agriculture shall keep a register of apiculture breeders (art. 6). Conditions for cancellation of the name of the breeder from the Register are provided for in article 7. The importation and exportation of bees, bee products and bee accessories is subject to a previous licence from the Ministry of Agriculture (art. 9). The Technical Departments of the Ministry of Agriculture shall study bee diseases and define the quantity and requisites of medicines necessary for the treatment and prevention of diseases (art. 10).
