Abstract

This Resolution is composed of 6 articles and defines the boundaries of Ain Thakar-Spring lands as provided for in the attached map. The aim of this is the prevention of pollution. Copies of the boundaries shall be kept at the Water Resources Department, General Department for Yarmuk River, Technical Services Department-Dar’a and at the General Authority for Drinking Water and Sewerage-Dar’a (art. 1). All commercial, touristic, constructional, industrial and agricultural activities within the set boundaries are prohibited (art. 2). Activities prohibited in the area shall include: construction of new houses; random use of pesticides and fertilizers; establishment of industrial installations; irrigation of plants by sewage water; the gathering of waste; the establishment of stations for the treatment of sewage water; establishment of tanks for oil and combustibles with a capacity exceeding 10 cubic metres; and the establishment of stone quarries, campsites, stadiums, etc. (art. 4).
