The aim of this is the prevention of pollution. Copies of the boundaries shall be kept at the Water Resources Department, General Department for Yarmuk River, Technical Services Department-Dar’a and at the General Authority for Drinking Water and Sewerage-Dar’a (art. 1). All commercial, touristic, constructional, industrial and agricultural activities within the set boundaries are prohibited (art. 2). Activities prohibited in the area shall include: construction of new houses; random use of pesticides and fertilizers; establishment of industrial installations; irrigation of plants by sewage water; the gathering of waste; the establishment of stations for the treatment of sewage water; establishment of tanks for oil and combustibles with a capacity exceeding 10 cubic metres; and the establishment of stone quarries, campsites, stadiums, etc. (art. 4).
