Abstract

This Resolution validates Veterinary and Sanitary Rules for keeping, growing, breeding and transfer of pond fish, establishing that fish-breeding organizations must have devices, equipment, tools, facilities necessary to monitor the health of fish and the hydrochemical regime of the fish habitat, to carry out therapeutic and preventive treatments. Laboratory research (testing) of samples for the purpose of diagnosing infectious diseases of fish and monitoring the hydrochemical regime of the fish habitat can be carried out in third-party accredited testing laboratories (centers). In the absence of the possibility of completely drain water from the main pond (water source of a fish-breeding organization) and carry out health-improving measures in it, stocking it with fish species grown in a fish breeding organization shall be prohibited. When keeping, growing and breeding fish in fish ponds the following shall be prohibited: (a) the introduction of pathogens of contagious fish diseases from other fish breeding organizations, natural reservoirs with transport, people's shoes, water in which the fish was transported, for which a set of measures is taken to biologically protect the fish breeding organization (ponds), which provides for restricting access to fish ponds by unauthorized persons, transport, sanitizing the wheels of vehicles, fish tanks, hands and shoes of staff and visitors at the entrance to the territory of the production zone; (b) filling fish ponds with water contaminated with domestic or industrial effluent waste water; (c) introduction of manure that has not been biothermally disinfected into fish ponds; (d) transfer from other water sources and reservoirs into fish ponds, main pond and water source of a fish breeding organization of fish, molluscs and other aquatic organisms that are carriers or intermediate hosts of pathogens of infectious fish diseases, except for cases of their deliberate introduction for the purpose of rearing and breeding in accordance with the requirements of these Rules; (e) excessive overgrowth of aquatic vegetation (to combat overgrowth fish ponds, biological and (or) mechanical methods are used); and (f) large concentrations and nesting in fish ponds of piscivorous waterfowl.
