Abstract

The Resolution lays down requirements for transportation, safety, labeling, packaging and identification of living GMOs. It consists of six articles: General provisions (1); Requirements for transportation, safety, labeling, packaging and identification of living GMOs (2); Special requirements for transportation, safety, labeling, packaging and identification of living genetically modified microorganisms (3); Special requirements for transportation, safety, labeling, packaging and identification of living genetically modified plants and/or their parts (4); Special requirements for transportation, safety, labeling, packaging and identification of living genetically modified animals (5); and GMO release into the environment during transportation (6). According to the document, transportation of GMOs that are intended for a release into the environment is permitted in Georgia only as transit transportation.
