The Sections are: Establishment and Objectives (I); The Minister (II); and the Organizational Structure of the Ministry. Main objectives of the Ministry are: to achieve agricultural development by empowering production, rendering services in the field of plant and animal production, developing the work in the fields of protection, guidance, co-operation and agricultural training, To achieve these goals its tasks are: to establish, plan and monitor the implementation of agricultural policy; create and develop centers of services in the field of production, both animal and agricultural; manage irrigation systems (both drip or sprinkler); modernize agricultural sector, cooperate with similar structures, in Iraq and abroad; strengthen relationships with other countries to develop local agriculture and propose laws relating to agriculture and its protection.
