This Resolution enters into force on the day after its publication.
Abstract

This Resolution, consisting of 10 articles, creates the National Pesticide Management Committee (CNGP) as an advisory body, to coordinate, articulate and enforce decisions related to pesticides in all domains within the national territory in order to comply with the ECOWAS regulation C/REG.3/05/2008 of 18 May on the harmonization of rules governing the approval, marketing and control of pesticides in all Member States. CNGP is responsible for: a) Identify legislative needs and regulations on pesticides and propose competent authorities to regulate them; b) Analyze and issue technical opinions on the health problems caused by pesticides; c) Analyze and issue technical opinions on the problem of environmental degradation caused by pesticides; d) Apply, follow and evaluate the resolutions and recommendations of the Sahelian Committee on Pesticides (CSP), and other legal instruments adhered to and ratified by the country, within the subregion; e) implement, monitor and evaluate pesticide regulations in the various domains within the country; f) Analyze dossiers of application for authorization or license to carry out activities in the pesticides sector in all areas; g) Implement, monitor and evaluate international conventions on pesticides in all areas; h) Verify on a regular basis the records of authorized, strictly regulated, prohibited, obsolete and used pesticides. i) Analyze and issue opinions on the problem of pollution caused by the pesticide in all areas. j) Analyze and issue technical advice on the destruction of obsolete pesticides and empty packaging; k) Analyze, monitor and evaluate toxicity; l) Discuss and propose the national list of pesticides, using a global list previously established by the CSP; and m) Prepare and approve the internal regulations of the CNGP.
