This Resolution enters into force in the 2003 season.
Abstract

This Resolution provides for the definition, classification and standards of barley, lentils and chickpeas. This Resolution is composed of 3 articles and 3 Annexes. Article 1 provides the following information: (a) barley shall be divided into black barley and white barley with a 90 percent purity; (b) barley shall be classified into first class, second class, third class and fourth class; (c) lentils shall be divided into flattened lentils, white and circular lentils, red lentils and shall be classified into first, second, third and fourth class; (d) chickpeas shall be divided into white chickpeas and Darouzi chickpeas with a 90 percent purity; and, (b) definition of insects, affected grains, impurity, density, old grains, broken grains, damaged chickpeas, etc. The Director-General of the General Administration for Cereal Trade and Processing shall have the full power to issue the necessary instructions for clearing the provisions of this Resolution (art. 2). Annex I contains the official standards and measures of barley. Annex II contains the official standards and measures of lentils. Annex III contains the official standards and measures of chickpeas.
