Abstract The Resolution regulates food supplements. It consists of 21 articles: Purpose and scope of application (1); Definition of terms (2); Permitted supplements (3); General rules for inclusion of supplements in the Supplement List and their use (4); Special rules for sweeteners (5); Special rules for coloring agents (6); Functional classes of supplements (7); Content of the Supplement List (8); Quantity (level) of use of supplements (9); Modifications in technological processes and original raw material of permitted supplements (10); Specification of supplements (11); Use of supplements in non-processed food (12); Use of supplements in food for infant and early age children (13); Use of coloring agents for labeling (marking) (14); Transfer principle (15); Decision-making (16); Traditional food (17); General requirements for labeling of the supplements that are not intended for end-users (18); Requirements for labeling of the supplements that are intended for end-users (19); Requirements for labeling of food that contains certain coloring agents (20); and List of supplements permitted in Georgia and terms of their use (21). The purpose of the Resolution is to protect human life and health, as well as consumer rights; to ensure efficient functioning of internal market; and in certain cases, to protect the environment. The Resolution does not apply to substances that are not added to food as food supplements.
