Abstract

This Resolution adopts the charter of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Division of Adjara. It consists of eight articles: General provisions (1); Scope of work and objectives of the Division (2); Authority of the Division (3); Organization of the management of the Division, and the rights and duties of the management (4); System within the Division (5); Competences of structural units of the Division (6); Amendments to the charter (7); and Reorganization and liquidation of the Division (8). The objectives of the Division include maintaining a safe environment for public health, and protection of environment from harmful impact; protection of ambient air; prevention of pollution of water, protection of water, and rational use of water resources based on sustainable development principles; participation in assessing hazardous substances and informing the public about the danger of hazardous substances; and protection of authentic natural and cultural environment and its specific components, including plant life, wildlife, biodiversity, landscape, cultural and natural monuments in the forest, and endangered plant species; and studying and assessing dangerous geological processes (disasters), and developing the system of forecast and informational database.
