Abstract This Resolution is composed of 10 articles. Article 1 deals with requirements and conditions for the transportation of red meat among Syrian provinces which are: (a) meat shall be in whole form for sheep and goats; (b) meat shall be in quarters for camels and bovines; (c) animals shall be slaughtered in an authorized slaughterhouse under the control of the Veterinary Authority; (d) slaughtered animals shall be marked with the Veterinary Authority seal; (e) the transportation shall be carried out by special means; and, (f) exporter slaughterhouses shall provide the slaughtered animal with the name of technical slaughterhouses, number of slaughtered animals, date of slaughtering and sanitary certificates. Technical Committees in the concerned provinces shall verify and control the enclosed documents (art. 3). The Veterinary Control Centres shall keep a register indicating the kind of meat, its quantity and its origin (art. 4). Circulation and transportation of meat among the provinces shall need regular invoices issued by slaughterhouses or by wholesale dealers (art. 6). Transgressors shall be punished by applying the provisions of various laws as specified in article 7. Presently the slaughterhouses of Damascus and Aleppo are adopted as technical slaughterhouses (art. 9). Full text Arabic
