Article 1 provides for the following rules and requirements for fishing with traps in the Syrian coast: (a) authorized vessels provided with a maximum of 10 traps can fish from 1 June to 31 October of each year; (b) the size of the trap mesh shall have a diameter of not less than 35 mm; and, (c) it shall be prohibited to dive in order to fix or pick up the traps. The issuing of licences for trap fishing to amateurs or fishermen without vessels shall be prohibited (art. 2). The issuance of licences for trap fishing shall not mean an increase in the number of fishing vessels operating in the Syrian Territorial Water (art. 3). All rules and regulations that are incompatible with this Resolution are now abrogated (art. 5). Full text Arabic
