The Resolution enters into force from 1 March 2018.
Abstract

The Resolution regulates placing information on nutritional value and health on food. It consists of 16 articles: Purpose and scope of regulation (1); Definition of terms (2); General principles for any type of claims (3); General requirements imposed on making nutritional value and health claims (4); General terms for making claims (5); Scientific proof for a claim (6); Nutritional value claims (7); Special terms for making nutritional value claims (8); Nutritional value claims making comparisons (9); Special terms for health claims (10); Restrictions on making health claims (11); Health claims except for claims on reducing disease risk, and child development and health (12); Health claims on reducing disease risk and child development and health (13); Authorization of a claims (14); Registry of nutritional value and health claims (15); and Database (16). The Resolution also includes Annex 1 on Making Nutritional Value Claims; Annex 2 on Permitted Vitamins and Minerals for Food Supplements; and Annex 3 on Recommended Limits of Use of Vitamins and Minerals. The purpose of the Resolution is to protect the consumer rights when nutritional value and health claims are made, and to ensure efficient functioning of the internal market.
