Abstract

This Resolution provides for the creation of a quarantine centre in the duty free zone located in Tartoos aiming at the following objectives: (a) to protect the Syrian Territory from the infiltration and entry of plant diseases and epidemics arriving with agricultural consignments; (b) to carry out sanitary and veterinary control and inspection of imported agricultural consignments; and, (c) to assure that agricultural consignments are safe and disease-free, and comply with the Syrian quarantine legislation. The quarantine centre shall be managed by a Director-General and Assistant Director-General.
