Abstract This Resolution, consisting of 14 articles divided into four Sections and one Annex, establishes criteria and procedures to ensure the control and environmental quality of the organic waste composting process. It aims at protecting the environment and seeking to re-establish the natural cycle of organic matter and its natural role of fertilizing the soil. It does not apply to low environmental impact composting processes, provided that the compost is for personal use or when marketed directly to the final consumer, regardless of compliance with the provisions of the specific legislation regarding the requirements regarding use and safe application. The competent environmental agency will define limits of low environmental impact, taking into account minimum parameters such as waste origin, previous segregation, amount of composted waste per day, type of process, etc. Section 2 and 3 deal with the Environmental Quality of Process and Environmental Control.
