Abstract

This Resolution is composed of 7 articles. Article 1 defines Bees' Melissococcus Pluton Epidemic which is generated by bacteria which causes the death of all affected larvae. Article 3 deals with field and laboratory diagnosis methods and analysis sampling. Article 4 deals with measures to be taken once the existence of the disease in a beehive has been ascertained which are: (a) destruction and damage of bees, larvae and honey according to laws in force; (b) sterilization of the rest of the beehives with the use of Formalin at a concentration of 10 percent; (c) field and laboratory treatments of sound and un-affected parts; (d) prohibition to transport or transfer the affected groups; (e) prohibition to use the honey produced by the affected groups to feed other groups or for industrial use; (f) prohibition to transport or transfer the instruments and equipment from the afflicted beehive to other beehives; and, (g) disinfestation of the clothes of bee breeders with Formalin at a concentration of 10 percent. The Technical Controllers shall have the responsibility for carrying out the aforementioned measures (art. 5). Transgressors shall be punished by applying the provisions provided for in the Animal Resources Protection Law (art. 7).
