Abstract

The Resolution regulates labeling of food. It consists of 10 articles: General provision (1); Definition of terms (2); Requirements imposed on food labels (3); Information on food label (4); Changing names of ingredients with specific names (5); Indication of nutritional value (6); Label of radiated food (7); Information on specific properties of food (8); Labeling of genetically modified food (9); and Business operators’ obligation to comply with labeling requirements (10). The purpose of the Resolution is to regulate any type of food in Georgia and to protect economic interests of consumers through providing more information on food products.
