This Resolution is composed of 3 articles. Feed and feedstuffs shall include millet, maize, barley first quality, barley second quality, a mix of wheat and darnel, pearl millet (dukhn), chickling vetch, grass pea, soybean oil cake, meat and bone meal, fish meal, dried fish, rests of dried dates, fracture of rice, fracture of wheat, millet guillotine, dried plant fat, straw and chaff, clover (barseem), amino acids, pure vitamins, rare minerals, whale liver oil, sunflower oil cake, etc. General requirements and conditions for the importation of feed and feedstuffs and particular conditions, physical and chemical requirements for feed and feedstuffs specifying humidity, impurity, specific weight, residues and the like, are: (a) suitability for animals, poultry and fish; (b) to be free from poisonous seeds and toxicity residues as well as free from hormones and anabolic steroids; (c) compatibility of the percentage of radioactivity within the limits defined by the Syrian Atomic Energy; and (d) the label on the package shall contain the name of the imported material, name of the producer, country of origin, date of production, expiry date, net weight and the chemical compound (art. 1). Article 2 establishes the following implementing measures for the control of feed and feedstuffs: (1) the applicant shall present the request to the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Animal Production Department, specifying the name of the feed, quantity, origin, price and the description of the feed; (2) the animal or plant production feed shall be enclosed with a veterinary certificate or agricultural sanitary certificate; (3) the Animal Production Department shall issue the Technical Approval; (4) the imported feed shall be controlled and inspected by the concerned authorities at the crossing points situated on the borders, etc.
