Abstract

The Resolution provides detailed rules for customs control for plant and animal products. It consists of 3 main chapters: General provisions (Chapter I); Importing, transporting and destroying products subject to phyto-sanitary control (Chapter II); and Transitional and final provisions (Chapter III). Main provisions and annexes of the document provide for phyto-sanitary and veterinary certification, plants and animals import permit, list of plants and animals subject to customs control, taking samples from goods, transiting goods, mailed goods procedures, various forms that need to be filled out when importing plants and animals in Georgia, cooperation between various agencies in customs control measures, storage of goods, safety measures, protocol for destroying goods and liability for violating the customs rules.
