Abstract This Resolution approves the Statute of the National Institution for the Development of Fisheries and Aquaculture (IDEPA). IDEPA, IP is responsible for: a) prepare specialized statistical studies on fishing activities and for the development of infrastructure to support small-scale fishing and aquaculture; b) propose policies and strategies, plans and programmes on the development and extension of fisheries and aquaculture, with an emphasis on small-scale; c) promote the development of fisheries and aquaculture, with a view to increasing the capacity of operators in the production, valorisation, management and marketing of small national fisheries producers; d) carry out and coordination, within the scope of fishing activities, of research, experimentation, demonstration and extension activities with the direct involvement of local bodies and communities of small-scale fishers and aquaculturists; e) promote actions oriented towards the implementation of support infrastructures for the production, processing, conservation and commercialization of fishery and aquaculture products; and f) monitor and evaluate of programmes and projects to support the development of fisheries and aquaculture.
