Abstract The aim of this Resolution is to lay down an appropriate system for monitoring and controlling used oil treatment, transport, storage, and disposal. It allows monitoring of such oils, thus preventing their detrimental effects on public health and eliminating pollution of the environment. The present Resolution is composed of 7 Chapters divided into 25 articles. Chapter 1 deals with terms and definitions. Chapter 2 provides for objectives and scope of this Resolution. Chapters 3 and 4 refer to obligations and tasks of oil producers and transporters. Chapter 5 refers to the Used Oil Treatment Unit. Chapter 6 addresses the importation and exportation of used oil.
