Abstract: This Resolution aims at the protection of public health and of the environment. The present Resolution is composed of 9 articles and 1 Annex. Article 1 prohibits the use of asbestos in buildings and equipment maintenance as well as its transportation, disposal and treatment unless a previous licence from the Environmental Body has been obtained. Articles 2 and 3 lay down requirements and procedures for obtaining the aforementioned licence. Articles 4-6 specify the obligations of the licensee. Article 7 entrusts the Environmental Body to keep a register for licences, documents, measures, standards, etc. related to asbestos materials. Article 8 contains offences and penalties.
