This Resolution enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Abstract

This Resolution aims at the protection of public health and of the environment. The present Resolution is composed of 9 articles and 1 Annex. Article 1 prohibits the use of asbestos in buildings and equipment maintenance as well as its transportation, disposal and treatment unless a previous licence from the Environmental Body has been obtained. Articles 2 and 3 lay down requirements and procedures for obtaining the aforementioned licence. Articles 4-6 specify the obligations of the licensee. Article 7 entrusts the Environmental Body to keep a register for licences, documents, measures, standards, etc. related to asbestos materials. Article 8 contains offences and penalties.
