Abstract

The administrative regulations for the provision of public service for the registration of geographical indications (Annex 1) establishes as follows: (a) the procedure for registering geographical indications and (or) the right to use geographical indications as an object of intellectual property aimed at the development of regional brands; (b) the procedure and conditions for submitting an application for registration of geographical indications and (or) the right to use geographical indications by a natural person and (or) legal entity (applicant) to the competent body (Ministry of Justice); (c) submission of the application for residents - through the special information system of the authorized body or the Unified interactive state services portal, for non-residents - through the special information system of the authorized body, with the exception of submission by mail; (d) perform all actions after the submission of the application through the special information system of the authorized body; (e) the procedure for payment of patent duty by the applicant in the amount specified in the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On State Duty" in the provision of public service; (f) the procedure for passing the application through the state examination by the authorized body (in which the official examination is carried out in fifteen days, and the examination of the mark indicated in the application is carried out in one month); and (f) registration of geographical indications and (or) the right to use geographical indications in the State Register of Geographical Indications within three working days and sending a certificate granting the right to use geographical indications to the applicant through a special information system within three working days.
