Abstract

This Instruction establishes veterinary and sanitary requirements for storage and processing of meat and meat-based products, milk and dairy products, fish and fish products, and eggs at storage facilities. In the premises of storage facilities for the storage of meat and meat-based products, milk and dairy products, fish and fish products and eggs, it shall not be allowed to accommodate all types of animals, embryos and animal sperm, fertilized eggs, hatching eggs, and also technical raw materials of animal origin (including skins, wool, furs, down, feathers, endocrine and intestinal raw materials, bones, other types of raw materials), animal feedstuffs and feed additives, collections of zoology, anatomy, paleontology of the animals. Storage facilities shall be provided with a sufficient number of storage space, depending on the production capacity. Access roads, driveways and footpaths, loading and unloading areas and passages should have a hard surface (asphalt, concrete), even, waterproof, accessible for washing and disinfection, with atmospheric and other water drains. In the warehouse must be available premises with equipment for veterinary inspection of commodities. In the production of meat and meat-based products, refrigerators and freezers specially made for refrigerating processing and storing foodstuffs shall be used. Meat cutting scheme by type of meat (beef, pork and lamb) shall be available. Food waste shall be collected and disposed of. Acceptance and processing of adulterated meat and meat-based products, milk and dairy products, fish and fish products, and eggs shall be prohibited.
