Abstract The aim of this Resolution is to lay down an adequate system for the control and monitoring of production, storage, transportation and treatment of hazardous wastes in order to protect the environment, wildlife and public health. It is composed of 7 Chapters divided into 35 articles and 6 Annexes. Chapter I gives terms and definitions. Chapter II defines the scope of application and objectives of this Resolution. Chapters III and IV pertain to obligations of producers and transporters of hazardous wastes. Chapters V and VI deal with Hazardous Waste treatment Unit and importation and exportation of hazardous wastes. Chapter VII contains general provisions. Annexes I to V deal with the following matters: not included production wastes; treatment operations; waste categories which should be controlled and monitored; hazardous characteristics; and, toxicity characteristic leaching procedures. Annex VI contains Lists A and B concerning hazardous and un-hazardous wastes.
