Abstract

This Resolution is composed of 10 articles. Article 1 subjects the registration of animal products used for fighting agricultural pests and diseases to the approval of the Agricultural Medicine Committee. Article 2 classifies animal products used for fighting agricultural pests and diseases in: microbial animal products; formants; animal products of plant origin; and, living beings. Articles 3 to 5 define requirements and conditions for the importation of animal products used for fighting of agricultural pests and diseases, in particular: (a) the aforementioned products shall be registered in the country of origin and in one of the following countries: European Union; United States of America; United Kingdom; Canada; Japan; Switzerland and Australia; (b) subjecting the aforementioned products to the necessary laboratory and scientific analysis before their registration; and, (c) ban on the importation of animal products intended to experiments for fighting agricultural pests and diseases before obtaining licences from the Lebanese Department of Pharmacology Plant in accordance with the approval of the Agricultural Medicine Committee. Articles 6 and 7 deal with the re-registration of the aforementioned products as well as the revocation of the registration.
