Abstract This Resolution approves the National Policy on Land Use Planning and Urbanism (PNOTU) which aims to promote inclusive, sustainable and resilient territorial and urban development for Cape Verde, based on the diagnosis of the problems of the current territorial situation. The Policy, consisting of six Sections, establishes the Political Guidelines for land use planning and urbanism and integrates strategic and programmatic dimensions, as well as legal and institutional issues, focusing on the framework of global conferences and agendas conducted by the United Nations and that of the Third United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, Habitat III, reaffirming the commitment made by the Government of Cape Verde as part of the 2030 Agenda around its 17 Objectives, including Objective 11 of “making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable” and achieving sustainable development in an integrated and coordinated manner at the local and national levels with the participation of all stakeholders.
