This Resolution enters into force on 5 June 2009.
Abstract

This Resolution approves the Policy and Strategy on Biofuel. The above mentioned Policy and Strategy, consisting of 7 Sections, defines the guidelines for adopting policy and relevant measures in biofuel sector, through the identification of mechanisms for its implementation in a consistent way, in order to respond to priorities of the Government to fight poverty and to promote energy security. This Policy aims at the following main objectives: to promote the sustainable production of biofuel based on the local energetic resources to complement the imported fuel; to reduce the country dependency on imported fossil fuels as well as the cost of import on national economy; to diversify the energetic sources; to promote the rural development through investments in biofuel and support on small scale producers, to promote the food security through income generating activities, etc.
