Abstract This Resolution approves for the accession of the Republic of Angola, the 2006 International Agreement on Tropical Timber (ITTA) 2006. The objectives of the Agreement are to promote the expansion and diversification of the international trade in tropical timber and to promote the sustainable management of tropical timber producing forests by facilitating international cooperation and policy development among all members concerning all relevant aspects of the world tropical timber economy, promoting non-discriminatory practices in the timber trade, promoting its sustainable development and reducing poverty, and the International Tropical Timber Organization, established by the International Tropical Timber Agreement of 1983, continues to ensure the implementation of the provisions of this Agreement and to monitor its operation.
